My name is Kay Wright. I am a licensed Clinical social worker who specializes in working with children and families. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Savannah State University. I am currently licensed in the States of Illinois, Georgia, New Mexico, California, Alabama, Arizona, North Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas. I support individuals/families in identifying challenges, regulating emotions, and developing solutions. Related Challenges: Anxiety, Postpartum, Depression, Life transitions, Grief, Relationships, ADHD, Peer Relationships, Trauma, etc.
Clients can expect to be heard and listened to in their first session. Our first session is where we develop a plan to succeed.
I enjoy helping individuals and families understand themselves, process and regulate their emotions, and problem-solve to identify solutions to reach their full potential. It's about creating a lifestyle change that can be different for everyone. It can be hard to push through without extra support and guidance, but I am committed to being that support!
Clients are ready to process and understand patterns, triggers, replace unhealthy behaviors, and set boundaries in their lives. There is an understanding of accountability and the desire to make changes.
Members use CBT to restructure negative thoughts and change unwanted behaviors.
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify strengths, set achievable goals, and move toward meaningful change by focusing on what is already working. My approach emphasizes collaboration, future-oriented solutions, and empowering clients to build on their existing resilience.
My attachment-based approach helps clients explore early relational patterns that shape their current emotions, boundaries, and interpersonal dynamics. I use this method to strengthen secure attachment, build emotional safety, and support clients in developing healthier relationship skills.
I integrate mindfulness-based practices to help clients increase awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations while reducing reactivity and stress. This method allows clients to ground themselves in the present moment and build healthier coping strategies through intentional awareness.
I use ACT to help clients identify their values, build psychological flexibility, and take committed action toward meaningful life goals. My approach focuses on acceptance, mindfulness, and helping clients move away from avoidance and toward empowered, values-driven living.
