About me

I am a seasoned and dedicated therapist, holding a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a PhD, with a specialization in trauma and PTSD. With 27 years of experience in the mental health field, my practice is driven by a profound commitment to assisting individuals on their journey toward self-discovery and personal growth. My therapeutic approach centers around meeting clients where they are in their lives, providing a safe and non-judgmental space to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I am deeply passionate about nurturing self-understanding, self-compassion, and self-love, guiding individuals to embrace these qualities as they navigate life’s challenges. In my practice, I emphasize the importance of moving away from self-criticism and self-blame, recognizing these patterns as obstacles to personal well-being. Instead, I work collaboratively with clients to foster self-acceptance and self-compassion, empowering them to build healthier relationships with themselves and others. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to help individuals discover their inner strengths, enhance their self-awareness, and develop the tools they need to lead more fulfilling and contented lives. It is both a privilege and a passion to assist others on their journey toward greater self-acceptance and emotional well-being. I also speak farsi

Trauma Informed Care

Research has shown that trauma is closely intertwined with various mental health and behavioral conditions. Traumatic stress is a normal reaction to an abnormal event—not just from a catastrophic event, but from persistent stress or loss.2 Trauma is complicated and can stem from a variety of circumstances, such as childhood abuse or neglect, war/violence, medical interventions, physical/emotional/sexual abuse, accidents/natural disasters, grief and loss, witnessing acts of violence, intergenerational trauma, and more.
