Hello, my name is Azizi. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based in North Carolina. I received my Masters degree from Liberty University and have been practicing doe 7 years. My motivation is to help every client and couple learn healthy means of dealing with mental and emotional difficulties. I'm dedicated to providing compassionate, results-oriented, solution- focused care.
Our first session together will focus on building rapport. We will start with brief introductions, then talk about the specific challenges you're experiencing. This will help us develop a plan with attainable goals designed to produce balance and overall well-being.
Having worked with a variety of populations during my tenure as a therapist, I have an exceptional way of relating to clients. My empathetic yet realistic, "keep it real" approach with counseling is what clients have come to respect and appreciate.
CBT is one of my go-to treatment modalities. It helps clients challenge thought patterns in order to manage any anxious or depressive symptoms you are having. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other; then use what we learn to re-frame how you think. This leads to an improved way of life.
Solution-focused brief therapy is great for individuals needing quality therapy, but has a set quanity of time to devote to the process. This method focuses on setting goals and working out how to achieve them. It's about the future rather than the past and promotes positive change by encouraging you to focus on what you can do, rather than what you can't. I've been using this treatment method in military and coporate environments for a number of years.
During the Christian counseling process, I'll incorporate spiritual resources, Biblical principles, and faith into our therapy sessions while also employing established clinical techniques. We will approach your difficulties through the lens of a Christian worldview rather than from a strictly naturalistic perspective. As a Christian and ordained minister, I've counsel those of the Christian faith for a number of years.
Couples counseling can be intimidating, but it's great for couples desiring to increase understanding, respect, affection, and intimacy. In my practice, I like to work with partners individually and collectively, as this has proven to strengthen the overall quality of the relationship.
