New to Grow
I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am an experienced Clinical Mental Health Therapist dedicated to helping adults overcome a variety of minor and difficult issues related to mental health needs. I help adults discover a new way of life to promote healing, wellness, happiness and stability. I am also a Maryland Board Approved Supervisor instructing post-graduate students toward complete therapy licensure.
Clients will find that I'm easy to talk to and that I create a non-judgmental and emotionally safe space for their therapeutic treatment. I continue to build rapport and help clients engage in positive lifestyles, including healing, closure, and the process toward new beginnings.
I started individual and group counseling in 2011 working in community settings and private practices and presently my own private practice. My therapeutic approach (usually Cognitive Behavior Therapy) has helped promote the development of more effective and adaptive behaviors. My therapeutic approach connects childhood upbringing, trauma, social environment, and community to discover psychoanalytical issues.
I am best positioned to serve clients who are motivated toward wellness and willing to do the work to accomplish treatment goals.
I use CBT to help clients identify negative thoughts and feelings and challenge them to practice new behaviors toward positive changes.
I incorporate clinical mental health therapy with faith based teachings related to spiritual/religious beliefs.
I help couples identify dysfunctional thinking, choices, and behaviors. I use psycho-education to teach communication skills, identify compatibility, and learn to build positive emotionally and physically healthy relationships.
This practice is used to encourage and enhance a person's motivation toward positive change. It builds self-esteem, and encourages motivation toward a plan of action. This practice is frequently used to break the chain of various addictions.
I analyze and diagnose issues that are foundational to maladaptive feelings, behaviors, and discomforting unstable emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy addresses the influence of the past and how it influences present thoughts and behaviors
