Hello! My name is Mickaela and I'm so glad that you're here. I understand that seeking therapeutic support can be challenging. And honestly? Valid. I also believe that therapy is a space for everyone-to feel seen, heard, valued and respected. I bring a compassionate, creative, client-centered, authentic approach to every session. With nearly a decade in the helping profession across a variety of roles, I have been honored to sit with all ages and all walks of life through some of life's most challenging moments, and celebrating some of the best. I specialize in working with survivors of trauma, children and teens, as well as adults in all phases of life. I offer individual counseling for children, teens and adults (ages 6 and up); as well as therapy for families and couples. I view therapy as a collaborate partnership, tailoring each session to your specific needs. Whether you are struggling or seeking clarity and growth, I want to provide a space where you can show up as yourself. Everyone deserves to grow, heal and thrive. Our first session is all about getting to know you—your story, your goals, and what feels most important right now. You can expect a relaxed, judgment-free space where you’re encouraged to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you hope to get out of therapy, and begin building a foundation of trust and collaboration.
I bring a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to therapy, blending evidence-based practices like CBT and EMDR with genuine human connection. I work best with individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by grief, trauma, anxiety, or life transitions. Whether you're navigating burnout, relationship stress, or old wounds that still feel fresh, I’m here to walk alongside you. My clients are often deep feelers, caretakers, and people who’ve been strong for others for a long time—and are now ready to focus on themselves. I utilize EMDR to help you process the emotions and feelings that are deep within you and impacting your day to day life in ways that may not even seem noticeable to you, and in the ways that do.
I like to use CBT to assist you in identifying patterns of thought that are maybe no longer serving you or may be holding you back from reaching your ideal self.
