Hi, I'm Sami. I am a licensed Marriage Family Therapist practicing in Georgia. I have been practicing therapy since 2019, and I enjoy working with a wide variety of people. My goal is to reflect you back to you; to help you remember your strengths, and to explore solutions together so that you can begin to experience positive change quickly.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

When first meeting in session, I like to get acquainted with introducing ourselves and hearing what brings you to therapy so we can discuss a plan on how to move forward in our therapeutic work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been working in dual diagnosis care for nearly 6 years, which has equipped me with practicing a wide array of therapy modalities with individuals from all walks of life. I can support you as we discuss navigating life's challenges and create a well-rounded plan for you to experience positive life changes.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with individuals who want things to be better, even if they're unsure of how or what "better" means just yet. I work well with people who sometimes have a hard time opening up, as I lead with warmth and compassion. Collaboration in therapeutic work is very helpful and beneficial, and getting clear on what you want to be different and exploring how to make that a reality is what I enjoy most about helping my clients.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Healing attachment is rewarding work that can be done in real-time in a trusted therapeutic alliance. Looking for & expanding cues of safety, retraining the brain and body to feel safe, and understanding how adverse life experiences interrupted that process in the past are helpful practices in this powerful therapy focus.

Compassion Focused

I naturally have a warm, approachable and non-judgmental stance personally and therapeutically. One of my major goals as a therapist is to help you feel safe and supported to do the deeper work, and foster patience, care and self-compassion as you confront challenges that brought you to seek guidance in therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When you're stressed, upset, at your wit's end your thinking is often skewed to *only* see the negative and expect more of it. Dissecting current life situations with a therapist is helpful to have a sounding board and someone to challenge this way of thinking. Let's work through it together to get you back on track and feeling better.

Eclectic

I like to keep an open mind and be curious and explorative as we brain-storm and find solutions to problems together. I will combine different practices and modalities of therapy that best fit you and what you bring to therapy so you can get a well-rounded and multi-faceted approach in our work together.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Let's collaborate to move you forward with renewed hope and motivation for your goals, even if you're unsure of what your goals are at this time. You may just need to have some solid discussions around how to get unstuck and to be reminded of your own strengths and resiliency to be able to do so.
