Therapy is a journey, whether you are familiar to the process or just beginning, I am so glad you are here. I'm a licensed counselor with a diverse background, I enjoyed working with those who were incarcerated make better choices for their future on the outside, working with those in active addiction trying to do something to make recovery possible, and working in a busy outpatient mental health clinic. With each experience, I learned how to work with various populations and enhance my skills. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the "light blub" moment occur with a client or helping a client heal when they are struggling.
Clients can expect to be listened to and validated for sharing their experiences or just me getting to know them. I empower clients by helping them recognize their strengths to promote change. Therapy is a safe space to try something new, learn better ways of coping, and embrace who you want to be.
I utalize cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients break down thoughts and patterns that may keep them stuck. I also utalize motivational interviewing to help clients take steps to change.
My biggest strength is I'm very approuchable, what you see is what you get. I try to explain concepts to clients in an understanding and empathetic way.
