New to Grow
I'm Heather Freegard and I’m a therapist dedicated to supporting adults, including veterans, who are navigating trauma, life transitions, and the challenges that come with carrying heavy experiences. My approach is grounded in compassion and collaboration—I believe in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your story and feel truly understood. I draw on evidence-based practices while tailoring care to your unique needs, always honoring your strengths and resilience. My goal is to walk alongside you, helping you find relief, restore hope, and build a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring more than a decade of experience supporting clients through life changes and navigating their traumatic experiences.
You can expect to see an increase in the quality of your life and a reduction in symptoms that you experience. You can also expect to walk away with a toolbox full of skills and mechanisms to assist you in your journey.
My greatest strengths as a therapist are creating a safe, compassionate space where you feel truly heard, tailoring care to your unique needs, and helping you build on your own strengths. I bring patience, empathy, and a calm presence to our work together, and I’m dedicated to guiding you toward meaningful growth and lasting change.
My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and strengths-based modalities, and I believe in meeting people where they are at with compassion, curiosity, and respect. I specialize in working with trauma recovery, anxiety, burnout, and readjustment.
I am EMDR trained, which is an evidence based treatment for trauma. I have 4 years of experience in use of EMDR and have helped many clients process and go beyond their trauma.
Biofeedback is a way for you to listen to your body and decoding what it is telling you. We can then use this information to assist you in taking greater control of your responses and feelings.
Thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected to each other. Changing one will change the others as well.
EFT is used to assist you in trauma therapy to further decode the feelings you have surrounding past hurts. This is then used to heal the present for you to process through and grow beyond what has happened.
Grief and bereavement therapy is used to assist you in recovering from loss. This could be loss of someone, a pet, or even a version of yourself.
