I am a Licensed Psychologist with experience in various clinical settings, including community, medical, military, and outpatient environments. I earned my PhD from Eastern Michigan University, completed my internship at Henry Ford Hospital, and pursued a fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. My approach integrates a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities tailored to each client's needs. I am dedicated to helping clients gain insight, develop coping strategies, and make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives. My goal is to assist individuals to overcome challenges, improve their mental health, and lead more fulfilling lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll begin with a quick introduction, then I’ll ask about what brought you to therapy at this time. I’ll explore the broader context to get a sense of what’s been going on for you. I ask a lot of questions to fully understand your situation and what you're hoping to achieve. From there, we’ll work together to create a plan tailored to your needs, giving us a clear path to follow in our sessions ahead.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is the ability to draw from a wide range of experiences across various settings, which allows me to connect with clients with different needs. I've had the opportunity to work in community, medical, military, and outpatient environments, giving me a unique perspective on the challenges my clients face. Additionally, my training in a variety of treatment modalities enables me to tailor my approach to fit each individual’s situation, ensuring that I provide the most effective support for their specific concerns.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients manage anxiety and depression by guiding them to understand the interconnectedness between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through this approach, clients learn to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthier thinking habits, and implement practical coping strategies to improve their emotional well-being and daily functioning.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients adopt a forward-thinking orientation by focusing on their strengths and solutions rather than problems. This approach is designed to help clients make quick progress by identifying goals, highlighting past successes, and developing practical steps to move forward. SFBT is ideal for clients who prefer a short-term, goal-directed therapy and don’t necessarily need long, intensive protocols, but instead benefit from focusing on actionable steps and tangible improvements.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use Mindfulness-Based Therapies to help clients gain better control over their thoughts and emotions by focusing on present-moment awareness. This approach trains both the body and mind to reduce stress and improve emotional regulation, enhancing overall functioning and well-being.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients accept difficult thoughts and emotions while committing to behaviors that align with their values. This approach encourages clients to embrace discomfort as part of the human experience, allowing them to move forward with purpose rather than getting stuck in avoidance or negative patterns.

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling, I work with partners to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their emotional connection. Using evidence-based approaches, I help couples identify patterns of interaction that may be causing tension and guide them toward more effective ways of relating to each other.
