About me

Welcome, I'm glad you're here! While I am new to the Grow Therapy platform, I am a seasoned counselor with over 20 years of experience. I am a Licensed Mental Health counselor in the state of Florida and I am also a Certified Rehabilitation counselor. I have a masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Florida. I have specialized training and experience working with people who have disabilities such as medical/health, psychological, learning, physical, and sensory diagnoses. Taking the first step toward counseling can feel overwhelming, but it is also the beginning of building momentum for change. In my work with clients, I focus on creating a supportive and collaborative space where your experiences are heard and valued. Together, we’ll explore your challenges and strengths, using evidence-based approaches to transform insight into action. I believe that even small steps forward can create meaningful momentum, helping you move towards resilience, healing, and growth. My goal is to walk alongside you as you build the confidence and tools needed for lasting change. I offer virtual counseling to anywhere in Florida and offer flexible appointment times including evenings and weekends. I hope to meet with you soon!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will take the time we need to meet and get to know one another. We will review consent forms, intake questionnaires, confidentiality laws, and ensure we have the information needed in order to have a solid start to our counseling journey. We can then identify and prioritize our counseling objectives and end the session with actionable items so we have positive forward movement towards goals that matter to you most.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a counseling provider, one of my strengths is the ability to connect with clients and meet them where they are at. We will work together to sort through the “clutter” and find the best route that promotes individual responsibility, so you can make empowering decisions that are in line with the visions you have for the future. My counseling process focuses on translating insight into consistent meaningful action that fosters resilience and sustained well-being.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am an inclusive counselor that works with adults and adolescents who have anxiety, depression, ADHD, medical/health conditions, or people who are experiencing a major life transition. I work with people who are experiencing work place issues as well as people who are changing or exploring new careers. In addition, I work with adolescents/college students who have learning disabilities/ADHD and are experiencing academic related issues. I also work with Military Veterans and their families.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is one of the most evidence-based and widely used treatment modalities in mental health care. CBT is grounded in the understanding that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected, and that by identifying and restructuring maladaptive thought patterns, we can improve emotional regulation and behavioral responses. I routinely assess progress using outcome measures and client feedback. I adjust the treatment plan as necessary to ensure it remains client-centered and goal-oriented.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is not about persuading, confronting, or directing clients. It's about partnering with them, helping them explore their own reasons for change, and supporting their autonomy and self-efficacy. I find it especially powerful in helping clients move from resistance to readiness in a respectful, empowering way.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-directed, future-oriented approach that helps clients focus on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It’s especially effective in counseling sessions because it encourages clients to tap into their existing strengths and resources to make positive changes in a relatively short amount of time.

Reality Therapy

Reality Therapy emphasizes personal responsibility, present behavior, and making effective choices to meet needs. Reality Therapy, developed by Dr. William Glasser, is a practical, client-centered approach focused on helping individuals take control of their lives by making better choices that meet their basic needs in responsible ways.
