I am a psychologist that is licensed in Florida and New York with 9 years of experience. I have worked as a school psychologist, trauma-informed postdoctoral resident and a clinical psychologist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, executive functioning deficits, relationship difficulties, school problems, parenting struggles and career challenges. I also helped many people who have experienced trauma and/or abuse. My counseling style is empathetic and warm. I believe in treating anyone with compassion, understanding and openness and I don't believe in the stigmatization of clinical diagnoses. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, and integrated theory. I will tailor our treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes bravery and initiative to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take those steps I am here to help guide you and provide support along your journey of self-discovery as you unlock your potential and continue to grow as a person. I look forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to take therapeutic tools, exercises, journals, and worksheets they can refer back to from sessions with me. I strongly believe that therapy should include a talking portion as well as a portion to learn and practice skills so clients can use them in their lives.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths as a clinician are my open-mindedness, and my ability to empathize with others and think out of the box.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) tools to help clients learn how to regulate their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Clients will learn about the cognitive triangle, common thinking errors and ways to challenge negative thoughts.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I teach clients Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help them to learn to manage their emotions.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I teach clients several exercises they can use to increase their mindfulness so that they are being present in the moment. Mindfulness exercises have been shown by research to help with anxiety, depression, and focus/concentration.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I teach clients thought defusion techniques that work by shifting attention away from the content of thoughts to the process of thinking so that they are able to defuse from their thoughts and no longer feel stuck inside a thought.
