Hi there, I'm Qiana Marie. I am here to assist you in becoming your most capable, confident, skillful self. The therapy process often involves healing, addressing unresolved issues and learning new skills that will help you navigate through life's uncertainties and challenges. My focus is to help you meet your life and treatment goals. I have had the privilege of working with diverse communities and am conscious of the need for compassionate care and the importance of valuing experiences of all groups in order to truly connect. I provide counseling and resources that focus on collaborative care to support each person's distinctive needs, experiences, and strengths. I have vast experience working with clients through the process of multiple types of relationship issues, phases of life changes, depression, anxiety, trauma, sleep problems, chronic medical conditions, pain, family matters, bereavement/grief/loss. I am empathetic, compassionate, personable and practice a judge free, culturally informed framework that is eclectic, gentle, nurturing and honest.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will make introductions, focus the majority of our time on your reason for starting therapy (now), and discuss what the therapeutic relationship looks like. Our first session will lend to building connections as well as gathering information to best guide identified areas of focus, which will hopefully lead to offering you tools to manage life's challenges/circumstances.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Depression and anxiety are amongst the most common mental health symptoms that people experience. Untreated symptoms can lead to isolation, lack of motivation, self-harm thoughts and tendencies, relationship problems, avoidance, and physical complaints. Through the therapeutic process, I will teach you the skills/tools needed in order to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Situational and chronic stress can become overwhelming. New medical diagnosis, life transitions, divorce, injuries, death, highly demanding work environments, and unhealthy relationships can cause psychological and emotional pain. As a Psychotherapist, I am here to help you cope/manage life stressors you are experiencing.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

As a graduate of the University of Southern California with over 18 years of experience, I have worked in many settings and with many populations. Currently, I work with individuals ages 18 and above. I am comfortable working with clients who are experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, anger, sadness, and mood disorders.
