Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and am licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Villanova University and my Ph.D. in Human Sexuality from Widener University, and I have been practicing for 14 years. I help clients become the best versions of themselves, working through self-limiting beliefs, increasing self-awareness, and breaking through unhealthy thoughts and behaviors. In addition to being a counselor, I am a faculty member at a graduate counseling program in Florida.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, clients can anticipate a collaborative and confidential space. We'll discuss your goals, concerns, and the therapeutic process. I'll gather relevant information about your background and current challenges, working to establish a trusting relationship. We will explore your expectations for counseling and any immediate issues. Additionally, I'll provide an overview of therapeutic approaches we might employ. This session aims to ensure your comfort, clarify objectives, and set the foundation for our work together. Ultimately, the initial meeting is a pivotal step in tailoring the counseling experience to your unique needs and promoting a supportive environment for your personal journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a counselor lie in my empathetic and non-judgmental approach. I am skilled at creating a safe and supportive space where clients can openly express themselves. Drawing from a diverse range of therapeutic techniques, I tailor my approach to individual needs. My strong communication skills and ability to actively listen facilitate productive and collaborative sessions. Additionally, my commitment to ongoing learning ensures that I stay informed about the latest developments in counseling to provide the most effective support for my clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used therapeutic approach that addresses negative thought patterns and behaviors. It's a goal-oriented method to empower clients to manage their emotions and improve their well-being through structured conversations, psychoeducation, and collaborative problem-solving. CBT aligns with my counseling goals by providing an evidence-based approach that supports understanding and modifying negative thought patterns, fostering positive behavioral changes, and enhancing overall mental well-being.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) focuses on future solutions rather than dwelling on problems. SFBT encourages clients to envision a preferred future and take small, practical steps towards it by identifying and amplifying their strengths and resources, fostering a positive, goal-oriented mindset. This approach aligns with my goal of facilitating brief, effective interventions to empower individuals in overcoming challenges and building resilience.

Sex Therapy

Sex therapy involves addressing intimate and sexual concerns. Utilizing a client-centered approach, I employ techniques such as communication skills training, education, and behavioral interventions to explore and resolve sexual issues. The goal is to create a safe space for clients to discuss concerns, improve sexual communication, and enhance overall sexual satisfaction. Collaboratively, we work towards fostering a healthier and more fulfilling sexual life, acknowledging the intricate interplay of psychological and interpersonal factors in intimate relationships.

Mind-body approach

A mind-body approach integrates mental and physical aspects for holistic well-being. Combining techniques like mindfulness, meditation, and cognitive strategies, I would help clients recognize the mind-body connection. By addressing stressors, emotions, and thought patterns, we work towards enhancing overall health. This approach aligns with my goal of promoting comprehensive wellness, acknowledging the intricate interdependence of mental and physical health in the therapeutic process.
