Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Middle School Counselor. I am currently in training to become a Registered Play Therapist. I received my Masters Degree from the University of St. Thomas and I have 10 plus years of experience working with children, adolescents, teenagers, and their families. I enjoy helping children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults become the best versions of themselves despite dealing with life's obstacles and daily challenges.
In our first session, my goals are for the client and myself to briefly introduce ourselves, make sure that the client understand their rights and responsibilities, and gain clarity on why the client is in need of therapy.
My greatest strengths as a provider is understanding my clients background, strengths, and areas of improvements as well as getting the client to make a connection between their past, present, and how to become their version of themselves moving forward.
I love working with children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and/ or trauma due to negative past experiences, low self- esteem, identity issues, stress, anger, etc. . My goal as a therapist is to support my clients by helping them reach their full potential.
Clients will first identify negative thought processes and negative cognitions. Together the therapist and client will work on implementing strategies and techniques to help improve negative thought process. Clients will be given homework at the end of each session.
Together all family members as a unit will identify their families strengths and areas of improvement. Together we will identify each family members wants and needs to create goals for the family unit. Our remaining sessions will consists on ways to accomplish goals by implementing a variety of strategies, interventions, and techniques.
