New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience in community mental health. During my time working in a city-based mental health clinic, I gained extensive experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions and related challenges. As a clinician, you’ll find me warm, curious, and laid-back. I'm always up for a good laugh and strive to create a safe, relaxed space where clients feel comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely valued. I prioritize building strong therapeutic relationships, as I believe a supportive connection is the foundation for meaningful progress and positive treatment outcomes. In my spare time, you’ll often find me walking outdoors, spending time with my pet and family, and nurturing positive relationships that keep me grounded and energized.
Whether it's your first time seeking mental health treatment or you're returning to therapy, the process can feel intimidating or even a little scary—and that's completely normal. In our first session, I'll guide the conversation with thoughtful questions to get to know you at your own pace. You don’t need to share everything all at once; we’ll take it step by step. I’ll also offer my clinical perspective on where we might begin the therapeutic work, while leaving plenty of space for you to share your own goals. And yes—we’ll go over the paperwork too (with maybe a laugh or two along the way)!
As a primarily eclectic therapist, I strive to tailor my professional skills with warmth and unconditional positive regard to best meet each client’s unique needs. I prioritize building upon clients’ existing strengths, skills, and resilience, helping them recognize the tools they already carry within. I find great joy and pride in witnessing my clients thrive—developing meaningful relationships and leading fulfilling lives.
My clinical experience has allowed me to develop expertise in working with preteens, adolescents, young adults, and adults across the lifespan. I have extensive experience supporting individuals—particularly women—through a range of concerns, including developmental stressors in adolescence, women’s mental health issues, cultural identity challenges, and the unique experiences of migrants and immigrants. I approach this work with cultural humility and a trauma-informed lens, striving to create a safe and affirming space for each individual’s story.
With over 10 years of experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I have supported individuals in addressing a wide range of mental health conditions. I firmly believe that shifts in perspective toward healthier, more adaptive thinking can lead to meaningful behavioral changes—and conversely, that changes in behavior can reinforce and reshape cognitive patterns. My approach emphasizes the development of coping skills and personal empowerment, helping clients build a sense of agency in managing life’s challenges and stressors. This foundation not only supports symptom reduction but also fosters long-term resilience and self-efficacy.
Through my experience working with a diverse population, I have come to recognize that cultural identity plays a vital role in the therapeutic process. It is a key component in understanding the individual more holistically, allowing for deeper empathy, connection, and culturally responsive care. By acknowledging and integrating clients’ cultural backgrounds into treatment, I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where each person feels seen, respected, and empowered.
In my practice, I utilized a variety of techniques and approaches to better understand and serve the individual in treatment. As a clinician, I believe a human does not fit in a box; therefore, I approach each client with curiosity, flexibility, and a commitment to tailoring interventions to their unique experiences, cultural background, and personal goals. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities—including CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, culturally sensitive therapy and mindfulness-based approaches—while allowing the therapeutic relationship to guide the process. This integrative style helps foster a collaborative, empowering environment where clients can explore their challenges, build on their strengths, and work toward meaningful change.
After years of clinical experience, I have witnessed the value of providing education on mental health conditions, key psychological concepts, and the development of insight. Helping clients understand the "why" behind their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors fosters greater self-awareness, reduces stigma, and empowers them to take an active role in their healing process.
As a clinician, I believe a core role of the therapeutic process is to provide consistent support and encouragement throughout the journey of change, healing, and navigating life’s events and transitions. By offering a stable and compassionate presence, I aim to help clients build confidence in their ability to cope, grow, and thrive—both within and beyond the therapy room.
