**Only accepting in person clients on Tuesdays** My name is Brittany and I have been a therapist for 10 years. I have worked with a wide range of clients throughout my career, but the clients that I feel the most fulfilled from helping are the ones that have experienced some life-changing event that we can navigate through together. I graduated in 2014 with my MSW and worked to obtain my LCSW, LCAC, and CSAYC. I enjoy working with clients that have the motivation to move their life in the direction of growth, even when it is hard. I want to help people that feel stuck in their lives to find the deeper meaning they desire. If you are struggling and are looking for support, let's find a way to get you through it. Your problems are real, your problems are important, and your problems have solutions. I am an animal lover and you may meet Basil or Max in session. I believe that laughter in session can be very therapeutic and a good coping skill. I also love learning and educating others.
In our first session we will get to know each other. I like to ask questions to gain a better understanding of your life and situation. Feel free to ask me questions, if you like. We will create a basic treatment plan to address your concerns and explore some options for what I think could be beneficial. It’s important to me to build a therapeutic relationship with my clients that is based on a warm, empathetic, rewarding, and directive approach that empowers you to make positive changes in your life.
My biggest strength as a therapist is that I make people feel comfortable. I am also willing to talk about the tough topics that people get nervous to talk about. Life is hard and I want to help you with that burden.
We will explore and implement healthy communication styles to improve relationships around you.
EMDR helps to move you past areas that you feel stuck and is not only for trauma, like most people believe.
This is a process of getting through negative life experiences that still affect you. I have been through advanced training in this style of therapy.
