Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Indiana. I received my Masters from Indiana University and have been in the Mental Health field for practicing for 12 years. I have gained a wealth of experiences in a variety of settings I have traveled the world extensively and bring my experience as a 1st generation American to my practice.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions, then explore the specific challenges you're facing. This will help us create some therapy goals to work through in follow-up sessions. I will ask about your experience with therapy, focusing on what techniques you have found helpful/unhelpful in the past so that our work together can be fruitful. If you are new to therapy, I will share what therapy is and how to manage expectations of therapy.
I show up to my practice as my authentic self and encourage you to do the same. I view you as the expert on yourself. I'm here to empower you through psycho-education, skills training, and feedback. I am comfortable exploring therapy through a faith-based lens. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey towards self-actualization, and healing
Our ability to regulate our emotions impacts our life daily and our relationship with others. I spent two years working at a Mood & Personality Disorder Clinic. I carry this experience with me and integrate of several of the skills and techniques to my practice.
CBT involves work on changing thinking patterns. In my practice we will work on identifying negative thoughts and engaging in cognitive restructuring. I also utilize CBT to work on changing behaviors.
I have been trained in Motivational Interviewing for over 10years, it is an integral part of my practice.
SFT is one of my favorite treatment modalities. In my practice this will look like identifying your strengths, setting smart goals, identifying steps to take towards your goals, and problem solving.
