LCSW, 13 years of experience
Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience in hospitals, college counseling centers, adoption agencies, and elder care homes. For the past 4 years, I’ve been additionally working in private practice, where I support adults in navigating life’s challenges. I feel that I am kind, discerning, and personable. I listen not only to your words but also to the underlying feelings and patterns, bringing attention to what might be overlooked so we can explore it together. My goal is to understand your lived experience and help you discover new perspectives, tools, and possibilities for change. Please note: -While I have extensive experience supporting adults with ADD/ADHD/autism, I do not provide formal diagnoses or prescribe medication. -I do not provide Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters, as this is outside my clinical scope of practice.
We will explore what brings you to therapy and we will work to clarify your goals. I’ll ask questions to better understand your history and current challenges, and I’ll offer initial reflections or suggestions you can consider between sessions. The pace and depth are always guided by what feels comfortable for you. I consider therapy to be your space and your time. If you need to take a break and step away or eat a snack during our meeting, that works. If you want to bring up topics or have me prompt you instead, I am happy to go with what is most helpful. I encourage you to be as physically comfortable as you can - that can include laying in bed or wearing pajamas, for example. Current regulations require that you are alone when we are talking, that you are in Texas at the time of our visit, and I want to ensure your physical safety while we are talking. Beyond that, make the environment your own!
Compassion and curiosity. I want to know the real, authentic you. That way, we can better identify what is and isn't working in your life while pursuing productive change. I am open to your feedback and I am focused on making our sessions work in a way that is best for what you need. I am not in the business of judging you but I am interested in knowing what helps you and what doesn't.
I provide individual therapy for adults of all ages. I have experience supporting clients through: -Emotional difficulties: Depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, and loss -Life challenges: Career decisions, life transitions, parenting concerns -Identity and relationship questions: LGBTQ+ relationships, attachment needs, interpersonal difficulties -Trauma and resilience discussions: Healing from trauma and navigating conflict -Health and caregiving concerns: Chronic illness, cancer diagnoses, adoption experiences, women’s issues -Neurodivergence: Supporting adults with unique ways of thinking and processing Each person’s story is different, and I believe a flexible, person centered approach is essential for meaningful growth.
I use ACT to help clients build a more flexible and compassionate relationship with their thoughts and feelings. Instead of struggling to control or avoid uncomfortable emotions, we practice noticing them with acceptance while focusing on actions that align with personal values. This approach helps you create a more meaningful life and centers what matters to you most.
With attachment-based therapy, I help clients explore how early relationships and experiences have shaped their patterns of connection, trust, and emotional safety. By understanding these dynamics, you can begin to heal old wounds and create healthier, more secure relationships in the present. This approach focuses on fostering self compassion, emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of psychological safety.
I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. By identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and practicing new ways of responding, you can shift out of cycles that keep you feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Together, we focus on building practical coping skills and developing more balanced, realistic ways of seeing yourself and the world.
I use ERP to help clients gently face the fears or anxieties that keep them feeling stuck. Together, we identify the situations or thoughts that trigger distress and then practice approaching them in a safe, supported way without relying on the usual avoidance or reassurance behaviors. Over time, this helps your brain learn that you can handle discomfort and that the fears lose their power.

My first intake session I learned a lot. We talked about my past and experiences that led up to what I was feeling today. I loved how she backed up what was said through science and certain experiences other people have felt in scientific experiences. She talked about the stages of change and it really helped me out!
