Pregnancy and motherhood can be overwhelming, emotional, isolating and tough to navigate. You don’t have to go through it alone, I am here. My name is Kristina Howard and I am an experienced therapist focusing on supporting women during the Perinatal (Prenatal - 1 year postnatal) period. I received my Masters degree from Adelphi University in 2010 and have attended various trainings in Maternal Mental Health.
Our first session will focus on getting to know each other and sharing brief history, your wants and needs. Over time, we will work together to build a "toolkit" of helpful strategies to manage symptoms, stress, emotions, behaviors, relationships and life transitions. There is light at the end of the tunnel and you don’t have to get there by yourself.
I use a person centered, strengths-based approach to build a true partnership with clients. I provide a safe, nurturing, compassionate and judgement free space fostering growth and healing. I am here to listen, support, encourage and teach.
We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
