Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with more than 15 years of experience working as an LCPC in private practice and as a staff psychotherapist in college counseling. I use an integrative approach within a relational and cultural framework with strength based, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral theories. I enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds with cultural humility. I have experience in, supervision/training, consultation, outreach, individual, group psychotherapy, and couples counseling. My areas of interest include life transition, family of origin issues, anxiety, grief, loss, racial stressors, relationship issues intersectionality, and multicultural perspectives. I believe in having a safe, empathetic, supportive space to explore challenges, gain insight, improve self-awareness, self-acceptance, coping, communication and break unhealthy, non-productive patterns, to have more enriched, empowered, productive life experiences and relationships.
In our first session, we will get to know each other better by exchanging introductions and reviewing your intake forms. We will talk about expectations, goals and the process of creating a treatment plan tailored uniquely to you. We will discuss policy concerning insurance, self-pay, late cancelation and financial responsibly. I will also be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
I believe the client-counselor relationship is pivotal to the client's sense of safety to share and be vulnerable and to do the work. I am passionate about helping others identify the origin of challenges and unhealthy, disruptive patterns of behavior or re-occurring issues relating to repetitive thoughts, feelings, and reactions that are disruptive and non-productive to relationships and one’s life experience. The most courageous and rewarding journey is to have compassion for yourself. You deserve to live your best life.
I use an integrative personalized approach within a relational and cultural framework with strength-based, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral-based theories.
