Hello! I am Claire, a licensed counselor and art therapist in DC. I have practiced in a variety of setting since obtaining my masters from George Washington University. I have run the spectrum from addiction counseling to middle schools, which has provided me many opportunities to grow as a counselor and bring these skills to every space. I have been practicing for 3 years and am looking forward to getting to know you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I use our first meeting to get a better idea of your goals, specific challenges and what you’re looking to achieve in our time together. I believe in authenticity in all spaces, and tend to keep a fairly casual session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I show up the same in all spaces, and sessions are no exception! I believe in breaking down the mystique of therapy and making sure it is accessible to all. No complicated, fluffy therapy speak here!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients who are at a crossroads in their life. My clients are at varying stages of change, from first contemplating to ready to make lasting change, but do not have the tools yet.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe that every client is the expert on themselves. In session, we will work on centering your core beliefs into action outside of session.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Sometimes we get so caught up in our problems, it can be hard to work through the mess. In session, we will partner to identify causes, possible solutions, and how to put them in practice for long term change.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma informed care is at the root of every form of therapy I practice. Whether you are actively working through a trauma or not, I believe that trauma informed care is necessary in all spaces. The number one priority is ensuring you feel safe in session, through support, direct communication and understanding.
