I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based and licensed in Indiana. I received my Masters from Indiana University and have been practicing for 27 years in multiple settings. I work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, aging, life changes, transition and adjustment across the life-span. I utilize several modalities in therapy but am goal focused to help clients find the balance they are seeking with new tools for now and in the future.
In our first session together, we'll go through the in-take process, what brought you to therapy, and what you would like to achieve. We know life can be difficult and messy. Establishing goals that will help you see improvement and reduce your emotional overload will be our main focus. Remember, taking the first step in seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage.
With my 27 years of experience I demonstrate empathy and understanding and help my clients explore and express their thoughts and emotions in a supportive and non-judgemental space.
I utilize several modalities in therapy but am usually goal oriented. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it is structured and Person-Centered Therapy because you wouldn't be in therapy if you weren't looking for growth and self-actualization. Other therapies include, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness. It's not a one-type fits all concept it depends on you, where you are and what you would like to achieve.
