Hi, I’m Dr. Tamika Person Knisley, a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience assisting individuals through their personal and emotional challenges. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insight, and work towards positive change. I believe that every person has the ability to heal, to overcome, and to grow. If you are ready to explore your experiences in a supportive, informed environment... take steps toward change, I’m here to help.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

What if, what if you had a person to help you with reducing the burden of sadness…anxiety…fear… What if, what if you had a person who created a safe, non-judgmental space who could help you move towards positive change in your life. I will take our first session to get to know you and your needs, collaboratively set goals, and establishing a plan for our work together. My aim is to create a compassionate and inclusive space where you can explore your inner world, overcome difficult emotions, and take action towards improving your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With over 20 years of experience, I have developed a compassionate and informed approach to therapy. My compassionate and client centered approach integrates evidenced based treatment practices to address your specific needs. I believe in starting with people where they are and empowering them to create change in their life. If you’re ready to begin the journey of self-discovery and healing, I’d be honored to work with you.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with clients who find themselves facing a wide range of life challenges from difficulty with regulating their emotions to significant life transitions.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my practice I utilize an evidenced based approach called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) that helps individuals focusing on increasing their understanding and capacity to accept difficult emotions and engage in meaningful actions. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or major life transitions, my approach is collaborative and tailored to meet your unique needs. Together, we will focus on helping you accept what is outside of your control and commit to actions that align with your values.
