Welcome! I'm Susan Chinskey, LMFT Take a deep breath—you’ve already taken the first step toward prioritizing your mental well-being. I know that starting therapy can feel empowering, overwhelming, or even a little scary, and I want you to know that you’re not alone in this journey. I specialize in working with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and self-care challenges. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, creating a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of judgment. Whether you're looking to develop healthier boundaries, improve communication, or gain clarity in your personal growth, I’m here to help. Therapy is about more than just coping—it’s about transformation. If you're ready to take that next step toward the life you deserve, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Let’s begin when you’re ready. I'm in Rancho Mirage, California.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll begin with brief introductions and a conversation about what brought you to therapy. We'll explore the challenges you're facing, your goals, and any concerns you may have. This will help me better understand your unique needs and create a personalized plan to help us work together in future sessions. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and comfortable as we take the first steps toward positive change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood. I am deeply committed to helping clients build the confidence and skills they need to create the fulfilling life they deserve. Through empathy, insight, and a results-driven approach, I empower clients to create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am passionate about supporting women as they navigate major life transitions—whether they're starting a family, re-entering the workforce, or stepping into retirement and exploring new possibilities. My clients are driven to grow but may not yet have the tools to turn their aspirations into reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and uncertain about their next steps, seeking guidance to move forward with confidence.

Grief Therapy

I provide a compassionate space for clients to process grief, whether from the loss of a loved one, a major life change, or an unexpected transition. My approach helps clients navigate complex emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and uncover any underlying struggles that may be prolonging their healing. Through personalized support, I guide clients toward resilience and meaning while honoring their loss.
