Hello. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have worked in this field for over 20 years. I enjoy and have had the great honor in facilitating self-improvement and growth in my clients in a variety of ways and with a variety of issues and concerns. I find much satisfaction in being a part of my clients' journey to become healthier and effective in life.
In the first session with clients, I gather information about their concerns and what they want to accomplish through the process of counseling. We collaborate on goals for treatment and how those will be addressed. Lastly, I open the session to questions they may have about my counseling education, experiences, and background to create rapport and comfort to move forward.
I have had the privilege of working as a licensed professional counselor for 23 years. I consider myself to be a great listener, communicator, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I am motivated and feel much satisfaction to facilitate positive change within my clients.
I help my clients identify, explore, and discuss a four-prong approach which includes thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and environments, and how these factors interact with each other, the client, and others. I find that this approach is useful to my clients and that they find it to be down to earth and helpful, but simple, so as to make positive changes and progress in their unique personal growth and improvements.
This counseling approach is a unique blend of various counseling approaches and is collaboratively developed with my clients, sometimes session by session. It is especially helpful and effective as it is very tailored to fit their specific needs.
I have had excellent outcomes with utilizing CBT, Insight-based, and eclectic approaches in the work with marital, couples, and relationships. Couples often have different patterns of thoughts, behaviors, and past experiences including different communication styles. This approach serves to create a better understanding of their partnership and how to go forward effectively.
Work with grieving clients requires sensitivity, caring, and kindness and it has been my privilege to facilitate clients over the years in this very difficult time.
I have had the privilege of working with marital and relationship couples, as well as siblings, parents and their adult children, and friendships. I maintain the order in the session so that each individual can be heard and given an opportunity to grow.
