I’m Valerie Hubbard, a licensed professional counselor supervisor (LPC-S) with over 15 years of experience helping women navigate life’s challenges with support and understanding. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Southwest Texas State University and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling. I specialize in addressing anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, and I love working with women to uncover and change patterns that may be holding them back.
Therapy with me is a collaborative, supportive journey where you’ll have a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges. Together, we’ll work to uncover patterns in your life that may be holding you back and create healthier ones to help you move forward. I tailor each session to your unique needs, whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or major life transitions. My approach is compassionate, practical, and goal-oriented. I’ll provide tools and insights to help you better understand yourself, build resilience, and develop strategies for lasting change. At the same time, I encourage self-reflection and empower you to take an active role in your growth. Therapy with me is about creating a space where you feel heard, supported, and ready to build a more fulfilling, balanced life.
Creating a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and understood is one of my greatest strengths. I have a natural ability to connect with clients on a deeper level, helping them feel safe enough to explore their challenges openly. I’m skilled at identifying patterns in clients’ lives and working collaboratively to develop healthier ones that lead to meaningful, lasting change. I bring a practical, goal-oriented approach to therapy, using evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). My strengths-based perspective helps clients uncover their inner resilience and focus on what’s working well, even during difficult times. Above all, I am deeply committed to empowering women through life’s challenges—whether it’s anxiety, depression, identity struggles, or navigating life transitions like parenting or midlife changes. My clients can count on me to be compassionate, authentic, and fully invested in their journey toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I have used this mode of therapy for 15+ years to help clients overcome traumatic experiences, process limiting beliefs and develop healthier ways of thinking.
Solution focused therapy (SFT) is a mode of counseling I've used for the past 15+ years. In using SFT, we will look at your future goal(s) and work collaboratively to develop a plan to reaching those goals. I'm an eclectic therapist so other modes will be incorporated based on needs to best assist you in reaching your goals.
I am definitely an eclectic therapist who uses an individualized approach and will use a variety of techniques from different disciplines to address client goals. I pull from Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Hypnotherapy, among others, to completely address client's needs.
Strength based therapy is all about retelling your story with more emphasis on yourself as a SURVIVOR than a victim and more emphasis on your strengths and survival skills than on your weaknesses. These strengths will be used to help you continue building on your resiliency and in viewing your story in terms of strength.
