Hi! I'm an Arizona Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) and also a Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Privider designation. I received my Masters from the liberal arts university in Tennessee and have been practicing for about 15 years. I have worked with people who have struggled with trauma as well as anxiety and depression. I also have experience working through life transitions, LGBTQ+ specific issues, and many other difficulties.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During out first session you can expect that I will have questions about what you have experienced, where you are in your life right now, and what you would to work toward. You would be free to ask questions of me as well to see if we are a good fit to work together on your journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I prioritize establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, which forms the foundation for effective treatment. Through comprehensive assessments, I tailor therapeutic interventions to meet each client's unique needs and goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use CBT by first assessing clients' concerns and collaboratively setting goals. I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, teaching them coping strategies and assigning homework to reinforce learning. Throughout therapy, I monitor progress, adapt interventions as needed, and work towards empowering clients with skills to manage their emotions and improve their overall well-being.

EMDR

In my practice, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and resolve traumatic memories or distressing experiences. I begin by establishing a therapeutic alliance and conducting a thorough assessment to identify target memories. Using bilateral stimulation techniques such as eye movements, I guide clients through reprocessing these memories, facilitating adaptive resolution and fostering emotional healing. Regular monitoring of progress and ensuring client safety are integral parts of my approach with EMDR therapy.
