Welcome! I am Kimberly. Are you struggling with a temporary setback or an ongoing problem? Are you wondering if there is hope for your circumstances or relationship? I can assist you. There is always HOPE. I believe that, as human beings, we all face life challenges, be they relational, personal, emotional, spiritual, or physical, and our mental health affects how we respond to these challenges. Together, we will discover new meaning in your experiences, while identifying opportunities for healing and growth. Establishing relationship is critical to successful therapeutic outcomes and as a result, my style of work is interactive, collaborative, direct, and reflective of my focus on the transforming power of relationships. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you are making a brave choice and you deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, you will be an active participant and I will meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques, so you can overcome whatever is holding you back and find hope for a new beginning. If you need a seasoned, genuine, non-judgmental, and respectful counselor, who seeks to empower you to overcome your challenges and transform your life, please contact me.
In our first session we will get to know one another and begin to establish a safe space and therapeutic relationship. We will take time to explore your family history and background and then we will dive into your current concerns. We will establish treatment goals that will be the focus of our future sessions together and your therapy homework. We will also discuss and identify a "baby step" that you can begin to take so that you are able to begin to do something different, to get different results.
My theoretical approach is eclectic, solution-oriented, person-centered and strength-based. I also utilize CBT and EMDR treatment methods. I believe that engaging in the process of psychotherapy with clients is a great honor. I value establishing a safe, honest, and trusting therapeutic relationship. I feel that a healthy therapeutic relationship is the foundation of treatment and is critical to successful therapeutic outcomes.
My strengths are in establishing relationship with my clients and providing evidence-based interventions to help individuals and couples overcome the presenting issues that have led them to seek therapy. I am non-judgmental, genuine and compassionate. I specialize in creating a safe space for individuals (ages 15+), couples, persons of color, and those struggling with issues relating to: anxiety/depression, communication, infidelity, identity, and trauma.
