I am an experienced professional with a strong background in supporting people facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety and depression, life changes, lack of confidence, communication issues, and chronic illness. I work collaboratively with clients to identify practical, meaningful changes that can create the greatest positive impact in their lives. My approach is interactive, respectful, direct, encouraging, and sometimes includes a bit of humor. I strive to create a supportive environment that is both encouraging and authentic. If you’re ready to move toward meaningful change, I invite you to take the first step today. I do not treat substance abuse or addictions. I do not do court related work.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session, we’ll talk through your concerns, goals, and relevant background. We’ll explore what’s supporting your well-being and what may be getting in the way. Sometimes counseling is focused on finding solutions right away; other times, it’s about better understanding what’s going on and why you feel the way you do, so you can move forward with greater clarity and intention.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I offer counseling with an experienced professional focused on improving mental health and overall well-being. Together, we’ll clarify thoughts, feelings, and needs, and work in a supportive, encouraging space to plan and practice meaningful changes. We will identify realistic changes that can make the biggest positive difference. My approach is interactive, respectful, direct, encouraging, and sometimes includes a bit of humor. I work collaboratively with clients to identify practical, meaningful changes that can create the greatest positive impact in their lives. This may include building skills such as recognizing and reframing unhelpful thought patterns, developing effective coping strategies for anxiety and stress, improving communication and boundary-setting, and strengthening problem-solving skills. We may also practice techniques like mindfulness, emotion regulation, values clarification, and structured goal-setting to support lasting, sustainable growth. I often incorporate evidence-based practices such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, mindfulness exercises, self-compassion work, and clear, achievable action planning to help clients move forward with confidence and intention.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

The treatment I provide might be best suited for individuals wanting to build awareness and skills that support their goals. Cognitive behavioral therapy provides evidence based treatments of issues such as anxiety and depression. Most individuals begin with clarifying why they are experiencing negative thoughts, feelings and behavior as well as what they would like to see change or improve. Others begin with a clear idea of what is troubling them and may be looking for a brief, solution focused counseling. At times in discussing concerns a form of treatment may be recommended that I do not provide, such as dialectic behavior therapy. If a better fit is available for a clients needs then appropriate referrals can be provided.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This may include building skills such as recognizing and reframing unhelpful thought patterns, developing effective coping strategies for anxiety and stress, improving communication and boundary-setting, and strengthening problem-solving skills. We may also practice techniques like mindfulness, emotion regulation, values clarification, and structured goal-setting to support lasting, sustainable growth. Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of behavioral therapy that helps people develop psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present, open up to difficult experiences, and take action guided by personal values. Instead of trying to eliminate painful thoughts or feelings, ACT teaches people to accept what is out of their control and commit to actions that improve their lives.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy is a therapeutic approach that helps people develop present-moment awareness with an attitude of openness, curiosity, and non-judgment. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or emotions, it teaches people to observe them without getting overwhelmed or reacting automatically.

Strength-Based

Strength-Based Therapy is a positive, goal-oriented approach to counseling that focuses on a person’s abilities, resources, values, and resilience rather than their problems or deficits. Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with you?” it asks, “What’s strong in you?” and “How can we build on that?”
