Hello there, my name is Suzanne. Do you yearn for relief from feeling overwhelmed and exhausted from the chaos of life? Are you suffering from the pain from past experiences, limiting your ability to feel happy and fulfilled? Has there been a limit to your creativity and joy due to sadness, worry, or health issues? I help my clients rebuild confidence and better understand emotional responses to live a life of authenticity and peace. Together we will explore your inner self and build an understanding of the experiences that shaped you into who you are. I have extensive experience in health and wellness, especially stress management and mind-body practices. We may practice mindfulness and grounding to help increase a sense of regulation and peace. We may build communication skills to improve the quality of relationships with ourselves and others. I offer support through life stressors, transitions and assist in understanding the past to improve the future.
Our first session is often about meeting you and beginning to build an understanding of your concerns and learning about the therapy process. As we progress, some sessions may feel like a supportive and reflective conversation, while others may feel like building skills to meet needs in life. Self-care will always be encouraged as this is a healing and transformative process.
My focus on helping others is always from a place of Trauma Informed Care. I practice from a Psychodynamic perspective, often helping align the pieces of the past that influence the present. I may utilize Acceptance and Commitment Theory, encourage DBT skill-building, and include mind/body practices in sessions. I am also EMDR Trained for trauma treatment in addition to talk therapy. I also work with various forms of romantic relationships utilizing affirming care and EFT concepts as well as being Gottman trained.
I have helped clients find confidence again, sometimes for the very first time, to live the life they want.
