I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Marietta/Kennesaw area in Georgia. I have been in private practice working with primarily trauma since 2008. I specialize in treating trauma... things that have happened to you that shouldn't have happened. As a result of trauma, our way of thinking and behaving changes in order to protect us. Unfortunately, those changes are often things we don't like. I love helping clients figure out and resolve the trauma that is at the root of their problems.

First session

In our first session, I'll go over the limitations of confidentiality and gather some history including what is bringing you into counseling.

Ideal clients

I love working with clients that have not been successful in therapy. They want to make changes, but have been unable to accomplish those changes or make them stick.

I use EMDR to resolve negative cognitions and resolve traumatic experiences.

I use CBT to identify negative cognitions and challenge irrational thinking.

I apply my understanding of faith and Christian principles to psychological issues.

I attempt to provide unconditional positive regard and no judgement towards all of my clients while constantly engaging in active listening.
