Hi! I'm a Bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in New York City. I received my two Master's degrees from Long Island University: Mental Health Counseling and Psychology. I have been practicing for six years and currently work at a Private Practice with bilingual Spanish/English clients (children, teenagers, young adults, and adults). Additionally, I work at a program for Todo Por Mi Familia (TPMF) with Spanish-speaking children, teenagers, and adults. Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a structured, goal-oriented type of talk therapy for my adult clients. CBT can help manage mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, as well as emotional concerns such as coping with grief or stress. It is an evidence-based form of talk therapy. As a CBT therapist, I help my adult and teen clients recognize problematic thoughts and behaviors by encouraging them to pay close attention to how they respond to challenging situations. This is an effective treatment for my adolescent and adult clients, helping them recognize irrational or negative thinking, process situations clearly, and respond healthily. As a CBT Therapist, I gain an understanding of my adult and teen client's issues and discuss the challenges (like an incident in their past/present/future, fears or phobias, troubling behaviors or thoughts and feelings) you’re dealing with, symptoms you’ve noticed, and any concerns my adult and teen clients have by setting goals for their therapy. Together, l explore my client's answers to gain insight into how you respond to challenges in your life. As a CBT, I will work with adult and teen clients to adjust their thoughts and behaviors, change their perspectives, adopt positive thought patterns and behaviors, and apply those skills to future situations. By utilizing CBT interventions as an integrated treatment plan for adolescent mental health disorders, I use Teen CBT to address substance abuse, eating disorders, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and seasonal affective disorder. Additionally, CBT benefits teen clients who are not facing specific mental health challenges. I also incorporate CBT activities to help my teen clients develop healthy habits that will support them as they transition into young adulthood.
