I provide Psychological and Neuropsychological evaluations for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, cognitive decline, dementia (Major/Minor Neurocognitive Disorder), clearance for bariatric surgery, worker's compensation, fitness for work (e.g., security), and other employment requirements. I also provide psychotherapy for mood disorders including anxiety, depression, and grief. I am an addictions psychologist with experience treating substance and non-substance problems. I also have 13 years of experience treating post-traumatic stress disorder.
The first session will help me better understand what are the common denominators of your present symptoms (e.g., poor sleep can cause irritability). I use this information to tailor a treatment plan specific to you and your goals. You will assist me in understanding what you are seeking in treatment (e.g., skills training, support, clarity) and we will collaborate on creating the most helpful intervention.
For years, I have worked with professionals; these experiences have helped me identify what makes people successful and happy.
I use CBT to empower my clients to gain control of their thoughts and emotions. The focus is on putting your energy on stressors that are within your control and, with practice, you can deal with most challenges.
ACT is an excellent intervention that doesn't require changing your thoughts. It's meant to guide you to identify your values in life (e.g., family, career) and remove barriers that have prevented you from finding fulfillment.
