Hello my name is Gabrielle and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. I began my career working in a hospital based behavioral health center. This afforded me the opportunity to work with people who struggled with a broad range of concerns and obstacles. As my career moved to private practice I feel my previous role provided me with a wealth of experience. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the desire to help others improve their quality of life. This may encompass family stressors, change in life events and general challenges that can result in depression and/or anxiety. I utilize various techniques, including CBT, to identify barriers and develop coping techniques to work towards change and ultimately feel confident and empowered. Sometimes life can become difficult and stressful. It is okay to need help. Making the decision to begin therapy can feel overwhelming. However, it can also be the first step towards creating change in your life. I am committed to providing a compassionate and empathetic environment in which an individual can share their worries and concerns. Our session will be a place where you know you will be heard. It is a place where we will acknowledge difficult situations and celebrate accomplishments, strengths and growth with the possibility of some tears but plenty of laughter as well.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be an opportunity for me to get to know you . We will take our time and discuss what has brought you to therapy. It is important for you to know that I understand this is a difficult first step you are taking and I want you to feel safe and comfortable in our session. I am interested in learning about your past experiences, your current concerns and what you hope to accomplish as we work together in therapy. I also want to focus on the strengths you carry on this journey. As we explore these areas we will seek to gain a better understanding of your needs. This will ultimately help us to determine the best approach to reach and achieve treatment goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with others through kindness, compassion and strong listening skills. I feel I have the ability to empathize with others which allows me to be supportive while providing an environment free from judgement. I'm a thoughtful listener, which helps me to understand not just what is being said , but also what one may be feeling. Trust is the basis of any relationship and I am committed to building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have worked with adults of all ages to help them manage and improve symptoms of depression and anxiety as well as life stressors and relationship issues. I look forward to working with clients who are open to exploring their struggles but just may need a little bit of help and the right tools.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a treatment method that focuses on identifying negative thinking patterns and the impact those have on feelings and behaviors. In utilizing CBT we work together to identify those patterns and behaviors and replace them with more adaptive strategies to bing about a more positive and productive outcome.
