Hello, I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Indiana. I received my master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2020. Prior to receiving my master's degree, I was a Licensed Practical Nurse in pediatrics. I have a passion for helping others and assisting them in making positive changes in their lives. I have experience in working with children and adolescents suffering from anxiety, depression, attachment issues, ADHD, ODD, trauma, and conduct disorders. I have experience in a variety of treatment methods such as CBT, DBT, solution focused, strength-based, and play therapy.
During the first session, I will begin by gathering as much information as possible to gain insight into your situation. We will work together to identify goals and develop a treatment plan. I encourage you to bring a list of questions and any concerns that you may have regarding starting therapy. I will be happy to answer any questions that you or your child may have. Therapy can seem scary, especially in the beginning. I will work hard to create an environment where you and your child feel safe and secure.
I am very passionate when it comes to helping others. In order to help others, there has to be an element of trust and a strong rapport. In order for therapy to be effective, there also has to be a strong therapeutic relationship with children as well as their parents. I work with parents to assist them with strengthening their bond with their children. I also assist them with modifying behaviors, discipline problems, and other issues that they may be experiencing.
I use CBT to help clients challenge irrational thoughts and change their thinking patterns. Clients are taught coping skills and other new skills to learn how to manage their symptoms.
I use play therapy with the majority if my clients. Children communicate through play. I use play therapy to help children grow socially and to assist with resolving their problems.
I work one on one with parents providing psychoeducation on behavior modification and discipline strategies they can utilize within the home.
