Hello! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, and I’m passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and build stronger emotional well-being. Since earning my Master’s Degree from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2020, I’ve had the privilege of working with teens and adults to support their personal growth, strengthen relationships, and achieve their goals. Whether you’re facing life transitions, overcoming obstacles, or simply looking to improve your social-emotional health, I’m here to guide and empower you through the process. I look forward to partnering with you as we work together to create positive change in your life!
In our first session, I’ll take the time to truly listen to your story and understand what brought you here. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to explore how your past experiences and current circumstances are impacting your life today. As we talk, I’ll reflect back what I hear to ensure I fully understand your goals and the challenges you’re facing. This helps me prepare for our future sessions and tailor our work together to best support your progress. My priority is to create a warm, caring, and supportive environment where you feel comfortable and safe to open up at your own pace. You can expect to be heard, respected, and guided with compassion as we work together toward achieving your goals.
Having gained experience in a variety of therapeutic settings, I’ve developed a broad range of insights and approaches to help clients navigate diverse challenges. This experience has allowed me to adapt my techniques to meet each individual’s unique needs, whether they’re dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or life transitions. I draw from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies to offer a well-rounded, flexible approach that empowers clients to make lasting change. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you can explore your concerns and develop the tools and skills needed to move forward with confidence and resilience.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients manage and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety by guiding them through a process of identifying and challenging negative thought patterns. Together, we explore how distorted thinking—such as all-or-nothing thinking, catastrophizing, or self-blame—can fuel emotional distress and reinforce unhelpful behaviors. Through this awareness, clients begin to reframe these thoughts, replacing them with more balanced, realistic perspectives that can reduce feelings of sadness or fear. In addition to cognitive work, I help clients develop practical coping strategies, such as behavioral activation and gradual exposure, to confront avoided situations or engage in activities that foster a sense of accomplishment and well-being. My goal is to empower clients with the tools they need to break the cycle of negative thinking and build healthier, more adaptive responses to life's challenges, ultimately leading to lasting improvements in their mental health.
In couples counseling, I focus on helping partners build healthier communication patterns and deepen their emotional connection by fostering a better understanding of each other's needs and perspectives. Through active listening techniques, I guide couples to express their thoughts and feelings in ways that are both clear and compassionate, allowing each person to feel heard and validated. A key part of this process is helping partners identify their own emotional needs—whether that’s for more affection, support, or recognition—and communicate these needs in a non-judgmental, constructive way. At the same time, I encourage couples to take the time to understand their partner’s needs, building empathy and reducing the tendency to make assumptions or react defensively. By learning to respond with greater openness and curiosity, couples can break cycles of miscommunication and conflict, strengthening their bond and creating a foundation of mutual respect and trust. Ultimately, my goal is to help couples create a more balanced, fulfilling relationship where both partners feel valued and emotionally supported.
In my work with clients, I use psychoeducation as a powerful tool to help them gain insight into their own behavior patterns and empower them to take an active role in their personal growth. By providing clear, accessible information about the psychological concepts underlying their challenges—such as how certain thought patterns, past experiences, or emotional triggers influence their behavior—I help clients better understand themselves and their reactions. For example, I may explain how cognitive distortions can fuel anxiety or how attachment styles can shape relationship dynamics. This knowledge helps clients make sense of their struggles, reducing self-blame and fostering a sense of agency. With this deeper understanding, clients are better equipped to recognize unhelpful patterns and actively choose new, healthier ways of thinking and behaving. Psychoeducation also gives them the tools to apply what they learn outside of sessions, helping them develop sustainable strategies for managing stress, improving relationships, and building resilience over time. Ultimately, the goal is to empower clients to make informed choices, improve self-awareness, and create lasting positive change in their lives.
