Welcome. I’m really glad you’re here. Starting therapy takes courage, curiosity, and a willingness to look at things honestly. If you’re here, you’re already doing something meaningful for yourself. My background is eclectic. I’ve worked in foster care, hospitals, hospice, and healthcare leadership, which means I’ve supported people through some of life’s most overwhelming and transformative moments. Those experiences shaped how I show up as a therapist: grounded, compassionate, and very human. In our work together, I’ll ask thoughtful and sometimes challenging questions to help you uncover patterns, build insight, and create real change. I also believe strongly in humor. Therapy can hold hard things while still leaving room for lightness, laughter, and relief. Both matter. I’m also a mom, which gives me a deep appreciation for the complexity of balancing relationships, responsibilities, identity, and self-care. I have a strong interest in technology, including AI, and I enjoy thoughtfully incorporating tools and strategies that help people feel more supported, organized, and empowered outside of session, when appropriate. Therapy is collaborative. You bring your lived experience, and I bring perspective, curiosity, and support. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on growth that is meaningful, practical, and sustainable. You’ve already taken an important step by being here. I look forward to working together.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and to start understanding what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what’s been going on in your life, what prompted you to reach out now, and what you’re hoping might change. I’ll ask about your past experiences with therapy, if any. What felt helpful, what didn’t, and what you want more or less of this time around. We’ll also talk about how you’ll know therapy is working for you, including what would signal that you no longer need therapy. Therapy is not meant to be forever. The goal is growth, clarity, and meaningful change. The first session is also about seeing whether we’re a good fit. You’ll get a sense of my style, and I’ll get a sense of what you’re looking for. There’s no pressure to share everything at once, and there’s no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right. Not every therapist is the right match for every person, and that’s okay. Final thought: Therapy works best when there’s a genuine connection. Your first appointment is simply an opportunity to see how it feels. You don’t need to feel bad if it’s not the right fit. I encourage people to meet with a few therapists so they can find the one they truly connect with.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I lead with curiosity. We spend time understanding the “why” behind patterns, behaviors, and reactions, because insight creates options. When you understand what’s driving something, it becomes easier to change it. My approach is primarily solution-focused and grounded in the present. We concentrate on what’s happening now and what you want to do differently moving forward. The past comes into the conversation when it’s relevant, but it’s not the main focus. This work is about creating momentum, not endlessly revisiting old chapters. I’m an active and engaged therapist. I’ll ask thoughtful questions, reflect what I’m noticing, and offer direct feedback when it’s helpful. I use motivational interviewing to help you arrive at your own clarity, and I’m also comfortable offering guidance and practical suggestions. You won’t be left wondering what to do next. I value insight, honesty, and a sense of humor. Sessions can hold depth while still feeling human and relatable. I aim to help you connect dots, see things from new angles, and leave with a clearer understanding of yourself and your options.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, and new life experiences that bring change, uncertainty, or a sense of feeling stuck. Many clients come in wanting to better understand themselves while also navigating interpersonal relationships, whether within family, romantic partnerships, friendships, or work dynamics. My ideal clients tend to process out loud and appreciate a conversational space where thoughts can unfold naturally, without a lot of formal structure or scripted exercises. They are reflective, curious, and open to exploring new perspectives, even when that exploration feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar. If you’re looking for therapy that prioritizes insight, self-understanding, and forward movement, rather than surface-level coping strategies or generic techniques, this approach is likely to feel aligned. The work here is thoughtful, individualized, and focused on helping you make sense of patterns so you can move through life with more clarity and intention.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Therapy because it emphasizes your strengths and focuses on creating practical, achievable steps toward your goals. Instead of dwelling on the problem, we work together to build solutions and move forward. It’s a collaborative, empowering approach that helps you create meaningful change in your life.
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation to help you better understand what you’re experiencing and why. When you have the right information, you’re more equipped to make sense of your thoughts and feelings—and to take steps toward healing.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing helps create clarity around what you want, what’s getting in the way, and what change could realistically look like. The focus is on collaboration, not pressure.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT focuses on developing acceptance around what you can’t control, while helping you stay grounded in what brings meaning and fulfillment. It supports learning how to live well, even when life feels uncomfortable or imperfect.
