A BETTER LIFE FOR YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONE... will always be my goal in therapy. At times when you find yourself dealing with life's curveballs, fighting the world with no options ahead, I'm here to help you navigate, face reality, identify, and move forward in your journey. I'm a Licensed Psychotherapist (bilingual) with a genuine desire to help you REGAIN control. With 29 years in the field, I've come to the conclusion that there is HOPE; things CAN change; there IS a BETTER life for you or your loved ones. I've seen patients improve, rebuild, and take on life with a new perspective. My certifications include Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (Behavior Modification, Depression, Anxiety, Panic); Reality Therapy; Mindfulness Skills; Christian Counseling, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART for Trauma/PTSD patients to resolve past trauma with accelerated results); skills that I’ve used with adults, teenagers and families to help them manage through life journey. Services offered in English or Spanish in a secure, professional environment (telehealth). Give yourself an opportunity and set your first appointment.
I want to know what's in your heart, as we embark in this journey to recover, heal from past and bring back the person you used to be. In our first session l'll take the time to meet you where you're at, go over your history, possibly identifying what brought you here. My goal in our first session is to make sure you understand we'll go at your speed, your time, no rush. Throughout my years of experience, I have seen it happened over and over. I always promise full confidentiality, and in our first session I always recommend a quiet, private place in the comfort of your home or office. (headphones or earplugs always encouraged.)
My greatest strength will always be 29 years of experience providing Psychotherapy. I've been to different arenas such as FL state prison (15 years), Hospital Mental Health Center (10 years) plus private practice for the past 8 years. Certifications include: Qualified Supervisor for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns (RMHCI); Florida Hostage Negotiator.
Cognitive Behavioral approach uses cognition (thoughts) over emotions that results in behaviors. I've been completed intensive training on this modality, making it one of my favorites. Over 29 years of experience in the field have convinced me that this is one of the most effective intervention/strategies.
Strong Christian background since childhood and currently active in church setting. Solid Christian faith that has helped shaped me into the therapist I am today. Would love an opportunity to share with others how faith can embrace reality and sooth strong emotions in the mist of any crisis.
This modality offers the opportunity to embrace and assess two different perspectives to help make sense in a given situation, empowering the participant to make assertive/healthier decisions and practice positive behaviors.
