I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my Master's in psychology from the University of West Georgia in 2016. I have practiced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rogerian Therapy, and trauma-informed care with youth, adults, and families to manage anxiety, depression, and conflict, to understand themselves better, and to work toward peace. Hard work is meaningful work. Let's do some meaningful work together!
In our first session, we'll start with introductions and then dive into specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with adolescents, adults, and families for the past eight years, I have developed the ability to work collaboratively with clients to address specific needs by listening deeply, identifying the issue, and creating a plan that leads to measurable progress.
I have used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice for eight years in educational, individual, family, and community settings. It has helped clients identify the connection between their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Together, we will identify those connections and develop solid interventions to help decrease anxiety, depression, and negative self-image, which would allow you to lead a more peaceful life.
I have worked with couples struggling with infidelity, negative communication, miscommunication, and just plain boredom. I teach active listening and non-violent communication to decrease animosity, increase empathy, and improve each person's sense of peace in their relationship.
Person-centered therapy is the foundation of all the work I do with clients. Each human with whom I come in contact knows themselves more than I ever will. You are the expert in your life and I will keep you company as we work through some of life's difficulties.
