It's hard to help you get a good idea of who I am in just a few sentences. I struggle just like everyone else and fully admit that I can be a bit of a mess sometimes. My hope is to help people learn how to help themselves by managing and reducing the symptoms that are causing them distress. I spent grad school in Rochester at Oakland University and graduated at the end of 2016. I've spent most of my career working with high severity clients. I have recently moved to private practice where I hope to continue helping people learn to help themselves.
In our first session we start to learn what is initially bringing you to therapy. We try and explore what therapy looks like with me and what you're ready for at this moment in time.
I fully believe that most clinicians have a rough mental health background and they are drawn to helping others because of that. I'm no different and want to be my client's cheerleader on their road to self-discovery.
I became attached to Humanistic/Rogerian/Client based therapy in grad school. You come to therapy to help alleviate you symptoms. My focus is to learn about you, why you're coming to therapy and what it is that you need.
