Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I received my Masters in Social Work from Sacramento State and have been practicing for over 10 years. I am a grief and life transition therapist. I work specifically with seniors to help them overcome anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions and caregiver burnout in order to step into new seasons of life with confidence. My approach is person centered; addressing the whole person; mind, spirit and body. I believe in empowering clients to make changes and supporting them along the way. I teach clients skills that they can integrate into their everyday lives to find relief from their negative symptoms. I want clients to feel hope, joy and purpose in their lives. I am known for my authenticity, direct communication and peaceful presence.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, address why you are seeking support and identify your goals. I will gather some history and complete a few assessments to determine a baseline of how you are doing in order to measure our progress in the future. We will discuss client-therapist relationship and treatment expectations. We will work together to create an individual plan to address during each follow up session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have over 10 years of experience working with seniors and caregivers in different settings and levels of care. This experience has given me insights into the unique needs and experiences of seniors. I teach tools and skills that address and reduce symptoms. I offer a safe space where you can express your thoughts, feelings and fears without fear of judgement. You are never too old to go to therapy and learn how to thrive in this next season of life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I focus on the connection between your thoughts, emotions and behaviors. I will empower you to recognize your assumptions, beliefs and negative thought patterns and provide you with tools to change the way you think, therefore changing your emotions and behaviors.

Grief Therapy

I specialize in grief therapy. I am able to hold space for you as you process and grieve the loss of a loved one, life event, pet, or chronic illness or disease. I will work with you to identify any blockages to your grief and support you in using healthy coping skills to process your grief.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I will use mindfulness-based therapy practices to empower you to connect with your whole self and build tools that will ground you, reduce stress and anxiety and help you live in the moment.

Motivational Interviewing

I have used this treatment method for over 10 years to meet clients where they are with a compassionate and non judgement stance. I will use motivational interviewing to identify your goals and what might be in the way of achieving them. I work to validate and empower you as you move one step at a time towards your goals.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use solution focused brief treatment to identify problems in your life and work with you to create solutions that are achievable. I have found this treatment very effective, specifically for 50+ population.
