LCSW, 5 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 5 years of experience working with adolescents and adults. My goal is to help provide tools and support for my clients so that they can improve their wellbeing and thrive. I have experience with working on a variety of life challenges including; racial and systemic issues, relationships, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, self worth, self harm/SI, and more. . My hope is that, through a collaborative process, we can work together to help improve wellbeing, understand emotions, and improve behaviors. I begin with where the patient is at.
My clients can expect a safe place to build a professional relationship fostered by support, acceptance and acknowledgment. Our first session is focused on creating a safe comforting environment that can help foster growth, understanding and addressing challenges and identify treatment goals. This first session begins with introduction and getting to know each other followed by exploring where you, the client, are at in your journey and where you may feel comfortable beginning.
My greatest strength comes from my ability to listen, identify strengths, and build on hobbies and interests as a way to navigate through goals. I bring about humor and also provide different examples of metaphors and analogies using pop culture, sports, and interests as necessary to assist each individual person.
I love working with adults who are determined, passionate and hopeful. Therapy can be scary and confusing, my hope is that we can work together to develop tools, plans, and goals to thrive.
Primary use of CBT is assisting patients with understanding how emotions, thoughts and actions are connected
DBT is a foundation of my work with understanding our emotional responses and our intellectual responses. I use dbt tools to help manage emotions and improve decision making.
