Hi, and welcome to my page. I appreciate you taking the time to read this bio. Finding someone you can truly connect with is daunting and difficult at times, and I want all my clients to feel that their time and challenging circumstances matter. Perhaps you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed with the requirements of “adulting”, raising kids, or just finding your place in this vast universe. Maybe you are struggling with your self-worth, feel that you don’t fit in with societal norms, placing such high standards on yourself, dealing with fluctuating moods, emotions, anxiety, chronic pain, autoimmune illnesses, or trauma. Together, we can work on identifying what may be hindering your potential, work on coping or stress management techniques, and overcome those pesky thoughts that may be taking you two steps back instead of moving forward. This is your journey, and I will be here to support you. My approach is eclectic, holistic, and sometimes goofy, depending on the situation we are discussing. I love to incorporate pop/geek culture and superhero metaphors into the therapeutic process if it fits our dynamic. I am a licensed clinical social worker and a qualified supervisor in the Sunshine State, with experiences in sexual assault, domestic violence, hospice, substance abuse, medical social work, emergency room social work, case management, community mental health, mentoring, job coaching, and career readiness. I have therapeutically worked with clients struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, grief, trauma, and self-esteem issues. I am a mother of three, USCG veteran, a spouse to a US Navy veteran, and a self-proclaimed nerd. I’ve also been in your shoes before, having sought support in my own difficult times. We all experience unique challenges, but we don’t have to go through them alone. I look forward to accompanying you on your mental wellness journey!
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then dive into specific challenges you are facing. This will help me create a plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Empathic, non-judgmental, and able to connect with others, specifically those who feel they are unique or different from the rest of the world.
We look for each individuals strengths as tools that can be used in challenging and reframing negative/intrusive thinking.
We work on challenging intrusive thoughts that contribute towards feelings of anxiety and depression by finding and understanding your core beliefs and reframing them.
Identifying core memories or experiences that shape the way we feel.
