Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I received my Masters from Liberty University and have been practicing for 7 years. I help youth in the foster care system, adolescent struggles, and adults trying become the best versions of themselves. I empower others to seek the core of their challenges and find effective skills to implement for the desired change they want in their life.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you are facing and determining the goals you have for therapy. This will help us collaborate together and create a tailored plan for us to work through in ongoing sessions. These goals will guide and support future sessions as a road map to track progress and implementation for success.
I have specialized knowledge to work with youth, adolescents, and young adults, specifically those in the foster care system. I have over 10 years experience working with youth in the foster care system and with foster families. I have the capability to help clients find the root cause of their challenges and identify steps to move forward to have a more fulfilling and empowering life.
CBT will help individuals learn and implement coping skills in which they change their own thinking, negative emotions, and behavior.
As a therapist utilizing this. modality, I will help understand each clients individual needs and complexities in order to be successful in helping the client reach their own individualized goals. This can include thoughts, feelings, behaviors, relationships, etc.
This modality explores early attachment experiences with our childhood and caregivers that can influence limiting effects of negative early attachment experiences. This also allows to strengthen potential and ability for secure relationship attachments.
This modality allows for the therapist to provide the belief that the client has inherent value and has a nonjudgemental atmosphere to allow for growth, empowerment, and self-awareness of the client.
Mindfulness can provide a change in perspective, being present, preventing negative thought spirals, helping process trauma, and providing rebalance in moving away from negative responses. This is provided with compassion and gentleness.
