Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I help to build a client’s confidence and capacity for managing and mitigating their mental health. Together we create a plan based on the client’s priorities using a strengths-based approach. Clients learn new interventions and how to incorporate them into every day life. I use S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant , Timely. During therapy, we will discuss progress toward goals as well as any areas where I can provide support to the client. Progress is progress, no matter how small or big!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a therapist, with her own lived experience, I am sensitive to the needs that mental health can create. I work to provide a judgment free space where you can feel comfortable and safe to share what is on your mind and in your heart. We work at your pace and dicuss things as you are comfortable. The goal is for change to occur naturally and not feel forced. Together we can create positive change for you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am open to seeing clients from all backgrounds who are looking for support to make changes in their mental health journey. Clients who come to therapy with an open mind and a willingness to explore their diagnosis and find creative ways to address their needs will be met with psychoeducation and a commitment to problem-solve with them. Together, we can find new interventions to create positive change for you.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy is an effective approach to treating a variety of disorders such as depression, anxiety, substance use, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and suicidal ideation. Using DBT, clients can learn to manage their emotions, integrate mindfulness skills into their everyday, and improve their distress tolerance. Learning to accept ourselves and our emotions can be difficult, especially without support. DBT, used with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can assist clients in developing emotional regulation which allows for better coping during difficult situations.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is used to interrupt cyclical thinking that can create obstacles for our mental health. It can be easy to get stuck in patterns of thinking that reinforce unhealthy and unhelpful behaviors. Using CBT, clients can learn to reframe their thoughts to suppport emotional and behavioral wellness.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT can assist clients in fully accepting their mental health through understanding symptoms and learning skills that fit their specific recovery journey. Everyone experiences intense emotions. When we learn to accept our emotional experiences rather than denying or suppressing them, we are more capable of supporting our mental health needs in a more healthy and helpful way.
