Hello I am Aida Sek, LCSW, a bilingual trauma psychotherapist, holding licenses in the states of Florida and Colorado. Some of my specialties include trauma, addiction and codependency recovery, PTSD resolution through EMDR, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, conflict resolution, multicultural and adjustment issues. Being born in Colombia, made me understand the value and importance of cultural, ethnic, and varied backgrounds, and recognize the multitude of strengths born from these areas. Specific to my practice, each client is met with a sacredness regarding their culture and background, holding the client in unconditional positive regard.

I follow a strength-based therapy approach that is built on the foundation of a respectful, authentic, collaborative, and loving relationship so that my clients can feel safe and valued. My goal is to provide an environment where you can trust that you will never be judged for speaking freely and honestly. In our first session through a collaborative, holistic and client-centered approach, we'll have the opportunity to know eachother and then dive into the specific challenges you are curently facing.
Through my experience I have learned to utilize an integrative and eclectic approach to assist clients identify their paths to well-being, finding hope and revealing the most authentic versions of themselves overcoming , trauma, depression, anxiety, isolation and addiction.
Solution Focus is a short-term, goal-oriented, collaborative, strength based therapy approach to assist clients to build solutions rather than problem solving.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a psychotherapy technique that assist clients heal from trauma, anxiety, and other mental health disorders
ACT helps you determine the actions you will take to resolve challenges by using your values as a compass and guide.For individuals who struggle with mood, anxiety, or psychotic symptoms, ACT trains us to notice the uncomfortable emotion or thought and acknowledge it, but to let it flow by without holding on to it or letting it drive our actions in that moment. We can use ACT to keep our self-defined values and goals in the driver’s seat.
Essentially, cognitive behavioral therapy hinges on the concept that our thoughts and behaviors are linked. By changing our thoughts, we can change our behaviors and thus create positive outcomes in our lives
It's based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). But it's specially adapted for pclients who feel emotions very intensely. The aim of DBT is to help you: Understand and accept your difficult feelings, Learn skills to manage and challenge these feelings, encouraging you to becoming able to make positive changes in your life. 'Dialectical' means trying to understand how two things that seem opposite could both be true.
