Hello! I'm Anna Muirheid. I received my Masters in Community Mental Health Counseling from Northern Kentucky University and have been practicing since 2016. I've worked in community mental health and addiction services, but recently I have started doing telehealth therapy to help clients manage their mental health and addiction issues. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore issues and concerns regarding relationships, mood disorders and trauma recovery.
In our first session, we will discuss your needs and goals in therapy. We will identify and explore the issues that have brought you to seek therapy right now. And we will discuss interventions that will encourage progress toward your desired outcomes. We will discuss evidence-based practices that address the needs and goals, and you will have an opportunity to express any concerns or questions you might have about the counseling process.
Having worked with clients for the last eight years, I have developed my skills and understanding related to chronic mental health issues and the treatment of trauma.
Utilizing trauma-informed practices throughout, I draw skills and interventions from cognitive-behavioral (CBT), mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) methods to create an individualized approach that addresses the goals you have set for yourself.
