I am a licensed clinical social worker, based out of North Carolina. I received My Masters Degree from Fordham University and have been working in the field of mental health in a variety of settings for over twenty years. I am a trauma informed therapist who believes that taking care of your mental health is equally as important as addressing your physical health. I recognize that it can be overwhelming to take the first step in seeking support and I would be honored to help you on your journey.
One of the most critical elements to successful therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship between therapist and client. During our first session, we will begin the rapport building process. I will spend time getting to know you by gathering information about your present concerns as well as past experiences that lead you to seek therapy. We will work together to identify your strengths which will help us develop an initial treatment plan.
I recognize and value each person that I work with as a unique individual. As such I am flexible in my interventions and employ a person centered approach. I focus on truly hearing what you are saying and helping you explore your thoughts and emotions in depth in order to develop adaptive solutions to your challenges. Overall I provide a safe space devoid of any judgment.
I have been trained in multiple evidenced based models to include Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Focused CBT. I however, pride myself on taking a person centered approach in order to truly meet my clients where they are. My overall goal is to empower you to recognize your value as well as develop the skills necessary to handle challenges effectively, heal from the past and create a bright and strong future.
