Welcome, my name is Karen Christopher, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Texas. I have over 20 years experience serving people. I am also a retired military spouse. I enjoy supporting people in all phases of life. I work with adults who experience depressive mood, anxiety, grief, PTSD, job related stress, martial issues and other concerns as well.
In our first session we will focus on building a rapport and exploring expectations for therapy. We will also explore your personal goals to accomplish during our time together and how to implement different techniques to achieve your goals. I provide a trusting, non-judgment and safe environment for your journey of healing.
My approach to therapy is being non-judgmental, supportive and empathetic to my clients. I use various methods to help you increase your understanding of your concerns and provide steps to make them more manageable. I continually attend education seminars to stay abreast on the latest interventions and treatments modalities to provide the most effective care for my clients.
I looked forward to working and collaborating with you and providing services that will enrich your life. My goal is to help and empower you to become the best version of yourself.
Techniques and modalities used varies based on the needs of my clients. My most common styles used are Emotion Focused, Mindfulness, Person Centered, Interpersonal, Compassion Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
