Hello, I'm Joyce Moore. It's ok not to be ok. Oftentimes, many people feel as though they can't share/express their true feelings and emotions due to fear of judgment. I have been there. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who offers you a safe space to address your stuck points, old habits and fear that interferes/gets in the way of you being your authentic you. My therapeutic style is evidenced based and patient-centered to help you grow and evolved into the best version of you. I will offer you genuine support with dignity and respect to address your stress, anxiety, depression and triggers related to your trauma with the overall goal of enhancing your capacity to function. Together, well will build a therapeutic relationship by having honest conservations to identify your areas of growth while simultaneously building on your strengths. I use a variety of therapeutic tools to empower you to navigate through your life challenges that negatively impact your mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The overall goal is for you to become the best version of yourself. Together, we will identify your strengths and areas of growth. Then we will establish realistic goals and identify steps to help reach your goals within a reasonable time frame. We will become a team to ensure you reach your goals.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to address negative thought process that influences your behavior. You’ll learn to challenge yourself through reframing and mindfulness techniques. Mindfulness will reduce stress, anxiety and fear. You will learn skills to empower you to pay attention to your now and reduce emotions that paralyze you with everyday life. Solution Focused/Task Centered empowers you to resolve the present problem and develop skills to address future problems by establishing realistic and achievable goals. Dialectical Behavior Therapy allows you to do the best you can while learning a better way to regulate your intense emotions, learn distress tolerance to take control of your emotions; interpersonal effectiveness to let go of your past and set healthy boundaries.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have excellent communication and active listening skills to guide my patients to identify their areas of growth and meet their treatment plan goals. I'm passionate about empowering my patients and empathetic in understanding their needs for support during their difficult times. As your provider, I'm organized and detailed oriented to address your individual need for therapy to help you flourish and grow into your authentic self. I'm creative, and respectful and challenge my patients to set realistic, measurable achievable time-based goals. I'm educated and trained in multiple modalities and therapy methods to assist patients to be successful in obtaining and maintaining their treatment plan goals.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
There's an ideal client and then there are clients that are a good match with their therapist to build a therapeutic alliance; which means we're on the same team wanting the same goal(s). That client that jointly works with their therapist is amiable to treatment. They are ready and motivated for change, is honest with themselves and their therapist. That client is actively engaged, provides revenant information, is consistent in treatment, open, vulnerable and trust the process that will bring their desired outcome.

Thank you Dr. Joyce. It’s feeling like a marathon that I’m walking with you. Like a journey of me steadily releasing all my hurt/pain. I’m feeling like I slowly but surely will come out this low/heavy period in my life.

Joyce Moore has been a great therapist for me. She truly listens and give feedback when necessary. She doesn’t interrupt me to where it will throw my thoughts off. When she speaks, I understand her words. She is very knowledgeable in all of the topics that we speak on. I love the fact I see her on a weekly basis and it truly helps me not hold things in. I am progressing slowly but surely. I highly recommend her.

Ms. Moore is very genuine, warm and humorous. Today was my first therapy session ever so I was skeptical and nervous. Ms. Moore made me feel comfortable, and she listened to me with no judgment. I look forward to working with her for however long I will need therapy!
